Dani is a student clinician completing their Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at Adler Graduate Professional School, practicing under the supervision of Dr. Houser. Drawing on their academic background in neuroscience, Dani integrates an understanding of brain and behaviour relationships with evidence-based psychological approaches to provide holistic, individualized care.

Before beginning clinical practice, Dani completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at York University, specializing in Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience. Throughout their academic journey, Dani built extensive research experience across neuroscience, neuropsychology, clinical psychology, and kinesiology. Dani gained extensive research experience investigating cognitive–motor integration, blast exposure, and neurocognitive health in Canadian Armed Forces personnel. They co-authored a NATO Science and Technology Organization publication examining how operational roles influence neurocognitive outcomes. Dani’s current research explores how parental rejection contributes to suicidality among 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, examining social factors that shape family acceptance and psychological well-being.

One of the things Dani appreciates most about clinical work is the ongoing opportunity to learn new approaches and deepen their understanding of the human experience. Their current clinical focus includes emotional dysregulation, trauma-informed care, identity development, and supporting members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Dani is committed to culturally competent, trauma-informed, and affirming care that honours each client’s lived experience and fosters an environment of safety and inclusion. Dani provides both psychological assessment and psychotherapy services. Their practice integrates Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems perspectives. They also incorporate insights from neuroscience, bottom-up understandings of trauma, and identity-sensitive frameworks to deliver holistic treatment that is responsive to each client’s needs.

In sessions, you can expect Dani to be warm, attentive, and authentic, using a blend of compassion, humour, and practical skill-building to support growth in the moment. Dani strives to create a safe, inclusive, and affirming therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences openly and work toward healing at a pace that feels right for them.In their free time, Dani enjoys spending time with loved ones, connecting with their community, and trying new things that expand both their personal and professional horizons.
